Emily Stewart covers business and economics for Vox. Stewart is the author of a biweekly newsletter, The Big Squeeze, that examines the ways ordinary people are being squeezed under capitalism and the scams — legal and illegal — that are constantly trying to sucker us. Before joining Vox, Stewart worked for TheStreet, where she wrote about politics and markets. She studied at Columbia University, after which she spent about seven years in Buenos Aires, bouncing around to different jobs and having a fantastic time. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
